Yet another mandatory update to the PlayStation. This time it is Version 4.30. It makes PS Vita trophies appear on the PlayStation 3 and moves the Trophy Collection to the PlayStation Network section of the XMB. You can also change the view mode of trophies to offline and online mode. Offline mode is the same as you would see trophies normally. Online mode views trophies similarly as when you compare trophies with a friend showing your progress as well.
To anyone who doesn’t have a Vita doesn’t benefit what so ever. So thank you for the mandatory update Sony. I don’t know why this couldn’t have been added with Version 4.25, neither are urgent or major updates. I’m also not sure why it had to move the Trophy Collection in the XMB. It’s like moving your bed in your room. You know it’s still there and still does a good job at being a bed but it’s just weird.
The Unfinished Swan has been a curious game when trailer was released. It showed white background with black balls of paint revealing an entire world hidden in the void. Originally a tech demo in 2008, Giant Sparrow has signed a deal with Sony to help fund the project. Has Giant Sparrow delivered or should they have left this game unfinished?
The beta for PlayStation All-Stars is now available for PlayStation Plus users for the next two weeks. I have had the chance to play All-Stars at FanExpo Canada. Even after watching gameplay videos and playing the game without having the time to sit down I really didn’t understand what was happening. Oddly there are less characters available in the beta than the build I played in the summer but what the heck. The Beta contains online matches with a three-minute four player Free for All settings.

Resident Evil is back again more ambitious than ever. There are more characters and intersecting stories lines as well as brining names and faces from the past. Does one of our oldest zombie killing games deliver or should this have stayed dead.
There seems to be a bit of retro reviving happening in gaming. Sega has been re-releasing old Dreamcast games on PSN and XBLA while WayForward has been re-imagining old classics for the new generation.
