Trailers Trailers From Last Week 5/31/2015 – Time to go to war

Written by Twisted Ideas

What else is there to say about Arkham Knight at this point. I just want it to come out but this new gameplay trailer is showing off more of the Batmobile. This is probably the most versatile Batmobile that I’ve seen. When engaged in the massive tank shoot out it can track the trajectory of enemy fire and drive in all directions like a helicopter. Best of all, it can do donuts.

Review Round-Up Guacamelee: STCE, Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack and Shovel Knight

Written by Twisted Ideas

I’ve been behind on review again, not because I haven’t been play any games. The games I’ve been playing aren’t necessarily recent. Guacamelee and Shovel Knight have recently gotten second winds due to going cross platform. Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is a Vita launch title (made by the developer behind Guacamelee) and MonsterBag was a free PS Vita game from April. Let’s just say that I’ve had a lot of great gaming in the past little while.

News Bloodborne 1.04 Patch Update Notes

Written by Twisted Ideas

bloodborne

From Software has just released their version 1.04 patch update and submitted their patch notes on Sony’s PlayStation blog. The changes make a lot of things work better and make things more convenient. These are changes that probably should have been implemented from the start but it’s good to see that they have been made. Most of these changes are self explanatory but I’ll give some insight on some most of the changes.

Trailers Trailers From Last Week 5/24/2015 – The fantasy scenic route

Written by Twisted Ideas

I’ve never played an MMORPG to for an extended period of time nor have I ever been able to talk about what an expansion pack truly offers but this the Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Dungeon Crawl trailer does show off a lot. There are several new areas and some enemies that all look fairly impressive for an MMO. MMO expansions always bring people back into the game and sometimes get some people into them.

Review Life Is Strange Episode 3: Chaos Theory

Written by Twisted Ideas

Life Is Strangeā„¢_20150521215318

Initially, I wasn’t going to talk about Life is Strange again until the finale. This really isn’t much of a review as it is my reactions due to the events that blindsided the entire game up to this point. I’m going to be as vague as possible because Life is Strange is becoming something that stands out from Telltale in the best way.

Trailers Trailers From Last Week 5/17/2015 – Syndicate of top hats

Written by Twisted Ideas

Ubisoft certainly knows how to make each Assassin’s Creed trailer look awesome. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate takes place during the Industrial Revolution in 19th century London. It is said that this is the first game to feature a female main character with the two main characters being twins. Of course the trailer doesn’t really show this but baby steps right?

News LOUD on Planet X Kickstarter

Written by Twisted Ideas

At the Toronto Comics and Arts Festival 2015 (TCAF) I played various games in various stages in development. I have a soft spot for rhythm games and after seeing LOUD on Planet X is was interested. Developers Pop Sandbox are currently running Kickstarter campaign and aiming for release on PS4, Vita and iOS. They currently have 9 popular indie bands on board and it has a unique personality and gameplay that other rhythm games that could have the same songs don’t have.

Review Drew and the Floating Labyrinth

Written by Twisted Ideas

Drew_Website_Header1

Drew and the Floating Labyrinth is one of several Canadian developed games that I saw during TCAF (Toronto Comics and Arts Festival) 2015 this past weekend. Out of all of the games I saw, this was the most visually appealing with its minimalist look and hand drawn style of the main character and most of the visuals of the game. This game was successfully greenlit from Steam Greenlight in 2014 and was demoed at TCAF for a little more PR. After solving one of the most difficult levels in the game (after seeing that no progress was made in over half an hour) I really wanted so see what the whole game had to offer. Does this Greenlight game live up to expectations upon its full release?

Trailers Trailers From Last Week 5/10/2015 – Bikini zombie slayers

I remember hearing about Oneechanbara on the Wii and how it was a complete mess. The gratuitous violence and cheesecake sex appeal is a weird combination that isn’t really that uncommon coming from Japan. This does look a lot better than its last outing in the NA region. Hopefully this will be a great game so you can defend yourself when people scoff you for buying a pandering game like this.

Review Titan Souls

Written by Twisted Ideas

titan_souls_title

There aren’t too many games complete focused on boss fights but Titan Souls wants that to change. Titan Souls, in essence is a 2D version of Shadow of the Colossus. You are a mysterious hero who explores a big world bringing down the Titans. Will this approach the highs of Shadow of the Colossus?
