As stated this is the first Nintendo Direct since the passing of Satoru Iwata President and CEO of Nintendo. This Nintendo Direct marks off the end of this year and the first half of next year with a strong and health lineup of new games, sequels, remakes, amiibos and surprises. Love them or hate them, there’s something here for everyone.
Life is Strange is a new episodic adventure game by Square-Enix. It has been earning attention with its strange trailers, female protagonist and its episodic nature that only Telltale Games has been attempting recently. Does Dontnod Entertainment have what it takes to pull of a game like this?
We have reached the conclusion of the Telltales’s newest comic book adventure. Based off the acclaimed comic book series Fables, for the first time we got to see the world of Fables in motion. Does The Wolf Among Us succeed as its comic book cousin The Walking Dead or does it fall short like the overlooked adventures games like Back to the Future or Jurrassic Park?
2012’s game of the year is back for its second season. Telltale’s episodic The Walking Dead The Game (not to be confused with The Walking Dead Survival Instincts) is continuing where season one left off. After the events in Cleveland, Clementine world has not been looking up since. She has to grow up a lot faster if she want to survive in a world infested by Walkers.
Telltale has returned, not with The Walking Dead The Game Season 2 but with another graphic novel property. Based off Bill Williamham’s Fables, The Wolf Among Us is another 5 part episodic series. Taking place before the start of the original series it follows the life of Bigby The Big Bad Wolf. The Walking Dead was a surprise breakout success that put Telltale on the map. Will The Wolf Among Us be a similar success?
The last episode for The Walking Dead The Game was just released wrapping up this season. Earlier this year I wasn’t sure if I could recommend buying the season just based on the first episode. Now that episode five has been released I know for certain whether it is worth the investment.
For those attempting to go online on the PS3 today will find that there is a mandatory version update for the system. Version 4.25 gives Playstation Plus users 1 GB of of cloud storage for their save files. Prior to the update you only had 150 MB of storage. Out of curiosity I did a mass back up of all of my save data discovering that there was about 484 MB on my PS3, three times larger than the previous storage space allotted. So yes additional space is a welcome. Again this is only available to PS Plus users who also gain the benefits of free games/themes/avatars, discounts and the occasional early access to content like betas.
It’s no secret that the Tony Hawk’s series has fallen from grace over the years. Depending who you ask the series started to decline at a couple of different points. Some people thought after THPS 2, while some thought after Underground and for me was after Underground 2. The only thing that saved American Wasteland for me was the online play and I thought Project 8 dismal. After the failed attempt with the skateboard peripheral after Tony Hawk: Ride Activision announced at last year’s E3 Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD a re-imaging of the first two games. Tony Hawk’s arcade-like skateboarding series has bailed long ago but is THPS HD a clean landing?
The conclusion to Commander Shepard’s battle against the Reapers has finally begun. For the past five years Bioware has set the groundwork for the choices you’ve made. Will your decisions come and stab you in the back or will everything change as a result?
