As stated this is the first Nintendo Direct since the passing of Satoru Iwata President and CEO of Nintendo. This Nintendo Direct marks off the end of this year and the first half of next year with a strong and health lineup of new games, sequels, remakes, amiibos and surprises. Love them or hate them, there’s something here for everyone.
New Batman Arkham Knight gameplay footage was recently released and this game really does teaches the old dog new tricks. The freeflow combat has been expanded to take advantage of Batman’s new suit functions, enemy’s weapons and more ways to defend yourself. The gliding looks like it has a better sense of control than before and the Batmobile does a great job of getting you in and out of it quickly. This game is really putting out all of the stops. Let’s see where how far Arkham Knight will take the Dark Knight..
We get a lot of zombie related media to the point where the zombie as ac concept has become boring. There are somethings that can do the zombie well and House of the Dead: Overkill is one game that does and can make it fun at the same time. As a parody of the series Overkill has turned the series from laughably bad to laughably fun. Originally on the Wii the game has been re-released several times on most platforms on at least something you would own.
Evo 2013, the largest fighting game tournament, was this past weekend and just before the Super Street Fighter 4 AE top 8 Capcom revealed its debut trailer. The update will contain 5 new characters (4 returning and 1 brand new), 6 new stages and unannounced new modes and features. The update will be on disc for $39.00 and DLC for $14.99 as with Arcade Edition. The disc version will contain all of the DLC costumes and owners of Super who didn’t upgrade to Arcade Edition will only have to pay for Ultra upon release. Ultra Street Fighter 4 will release early 2014.
The return of SSX has many fans including myself pumped of a revival which has been waiting for the franchises ascension upon the PlayStation 3’s debut of 2007. As an arcade, non-realistic snowboarding game it exemplifies super-decked out tricks of crazy hang time, long duration of grinding on rails, knocking down your opponents using the analog stick, and unlocking better boards to improving the perks of speed and tricks. The arcade 1991 classic has its way to home consoles. The Simpsons Arcade Game was the first game based of the Simpsons and one of the rare Simpsons game that doesn’t suck. The Simpsons family runs into Smithers who is robbing a jewellery store. They collide and a large diamond falls into Maggie’s mouth. Smithers takes Maggie and escapes with Bart, Lisa, Homer and Marge having to fight across Springfield to save Maggie. It has been over 20 years so does this diamond still have any shine?
