More Silent Hills gameplay was shown at the Tokyo Game Show that just passed. It seems to be keeping its first person perspective which a huge departure but has a lot of potential for the series.. On the topic of Silent Hill, lets talk about the best Silent Hill game since Silent Hill 2. Silent Hill Shattered Memories was a stand-out game when it was announced at E3 in 2009. It was taking Silent Hill in a new direction for the series and was appearing on the Wii at the time it needed more 3rd party hits. It moved away from the action focused The Room, Origins and Homecoming.

Written by Twisted Ideas

Do you remember rhythm games before Rock Band and Guitar Hero popularized and killed the genre for many gamers. It was a time where this genre embraced whatever the strange and weird ideas that came into the developers heads. These were unique gameplay experiences without the additional investment of plastic instruments, dance pads or motion tracking cameras. Elite Beat Agents came early in the Nintendo DS’s life cycle and when Guitar Hero was just making is way into gamers minds. It also used covers for popular music but it’s the gameplay and presentation that makes it stand out in gamers minds.

Bargain Bin Review Zero Escape Volume 2: Virtue’s Last Reward

Written by Twisted Ideas

vlr-fb-coverZero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward borderline what I would consider a bargain bin game. Chances are that you can only buy this digitally and the price is fair but more expensive than the rest of the games I’ve written up so far but this is something great. This is the sequel to 999, 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. I’ve chosen the second volume of this visual novel series because 999 isn’t available digitally and probably even harder to find in stores.

Bargain Bin Reviews Spec Ops: The Line

Extra Credits has done a better job at explaining this game than I ever will but I bring this up because it deserves a look. Spec Ops: The Line deals with issues with the modern military genre that other games and series haven’t and probably can’t. This is a game that’s self-aware and instead of using that for parody or satire it’s something more meaningful.

Remember Me was a new IP from Capcom in 2013. It’s a cyberpunk game with that has an interesting spin on the action brawler genre. Probably overlooked for it being a new singleplayer IP and a relatively short one at, many gamers have missed out on a memorable experience.

Article Bargain Bin Reviews

Written by Twisted Ideas

I’ve been planning to be more active on my blog but with my busy schedule I don’t always get to play games as they come out. Many “new” games I play tend to be several months old by then. Writing about Triple A games a few months after the release probably isn’t the best use of my time.

I want to start writing weekly reviews for older games that probably wouldn’t require an in-depth review at this point. These will be shorter review of games that I’ve played in the past that deserve more attention. They will mostly be games that you can easily find for affordable prices in stores or online. Hopefully I can keep to a schedule even if I have a full review planned. It will be good writing practice for me and hopefully you will find something that you love that you haven’t tried before.
