Bloodborne comes from the same developers who made Demon’s Souls and the Dark Souls series. The series is famous for its punishing gameplay but was never too hard to ever feel impossible. From Software has been making improvements in througout the series, refining the gameplay and playing with the difficulty. Bloodborne is the first game that is trying to break out of that slow methodical shell by being faster and more streamlined. Are these changes for the better?
Suda 51 is creator of Killer 7 and No More Heroes is back with his latest game Lollipop Chainsaw. It seems in popular culture you can’t turn you head and see something about zombies. Again zombies have invaded our video games along with gratuitous amounts of blood and sex appeal. Suda 51 has always been about a unique sense of style but is a game about zombies and cheerleaders have it or is this better left for the dead?
With the new Twisted Metal game set for release February, 2012 I want to remind everyone where the series came from.
Twisted Metal is a demolition derby game where drivers are competing for anything they wish. Players drive around massive stages arming themselves to be the last one standing. There are many destructible elements in each stage that would reveal secret passages or rooms. The series is famous for their vehicles most famous is Sweet Tooth the ice cream truck. Some vehicles appear in multiple games but the driver would often change. Each driver was competing for a single wish with no limits on time and reality. A theme to the series is to be careful what you wish for, you never know what you might get.
No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise is a HD port of the original version on the Wii developed by Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufactures. You play as Travis Touchdown, an otaku who won a lightsaber beam katana on an online auction. Travis hears about an assassin and tries his new beam katana and kills him. Upon winning Travis is told by an organizer Silvia Krystal that he has defeated the Rank 11th assassin and fight and kill his way to the top. Silvia promising sex if he becomes motivates him to fight his way through 10 unique and colourful assassins on his way to Rank 1.
Heroes Paradise is not just a graphical upgrade, Paradise add DLC, PS Move support, a cutscene viewer and bosses from No More Heroes 2. New modes are also added. Score Attack allows you to re-fight bosses and allows you to upload high scores to leaderboards. Very Sweet mode is a new difficulty setting that gives a majority of the female cast skimpier outfits.
