Rocksteady returns with their first trailer of the final installment of the Batman: Arkham series. A few details are revealed so far other than the Batmobile being drivable and the Scarecrow starting an all out war against the Dark Knight. Slated to come out some 2014 let’s hope that Rocksteady has even more to bring to the table down the line.
The early years of the Dark Knight revealed. Taking place five years before Arkham Asylum, the game will take you through the start of not only Batman’s career but some of his rogues gallery. Rocksteady, the developer of Arkahm Asylum and City did not develop Arkahm Origins. Warner Bros. Games Montreal has taken over development using game’s existing resources. Can this unestablished team give us a game we deserve?
I have been made aware that in the recently released Pokemon X and Y if you save in Lumiose City your save game will be unusable. For players who don’t recall or haven’t reached Lumiose, it is the obnoxious city that’s in full 3D with a camera you can’t control and where you’ll probably get lost. When you try to load your save file from Lumiose your game will soft lock. There is no solution to resolve this issue other than starting a new game and saving over the corrupted file. I am unaware if it exclusively caused if you try to load your game from Lumiose City but I would recommend avoiding saving anywhere in the city.
It’s unfortunate that there’s a game ending glitch that can occur easily and accidentally. Nintendo hasn’t announced any word on the matter but a patch will undoubtably be worked on.
The newest piece of Arkham City DLC was released last week and it isn’t another challenge map pack or a DLC character. Harley Quinn’s Revenge is an epilogue chapter for Arkham City revolving around Harley, Batman and Robin. The DLC costs $10 but should you reenter Arkham City.
Earlier last month, I reviewed the open beta for Gotham City Impostors. For those unfamiliar Gotham City Impostors is a downloadable game developed by Monolith. Civilians dress up and model themselves after Batman and the Joker. These two factions decide to take matters into their own hands and shoot it out. The game has a similar feel to Team Fortress 2 as it has a dark sense of humour as well. Is Gotham City Impostors a competent shooter or is it a poor imitation?
Just coming off the Starhawk beta I stumbled across yet another beta. Gotham City Impostors is an upcoming first person shooter based on the Batman universe. You either play as the Batz, average joes dressed up in cowls and wearing the Batman symbol or the Jokerz, average joes dressed up like the psychotic clown. It shares similarities with Team Fortress 2 with it’s comedic violent style and it’s gameplay. This will be a downloadable title on PSN and XBLA. An open beta was just released and from what I played the online is going to need a lot of work.
Batman Arkham City is the highly anticipated sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum Arkham Asylum broke new grounds on what it meant to be a licensed superhero game. Even the best licensed superhero games may have had gameplay but many have failed to provide a compelling story, narrative and has not appealed to gamers well. Arkham Asylum accomplished all of those things and has won multiple game of the year awards and has become the best superhero game in the eyes of many gamers. Does Batman Arkham City live up to the cowl or does this bat fall short?
