It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these but since Paris Game Week just past, now was a good time for new trailers.
Shadow of the Beast looks like God of War with aliens. It looks to be a 2D sidescroller beat-em-up with a brutal looking main character and a ton of violence. We’ll see how this turns out. Continue reading →
I’ve been behind on review again, not because I haven’t been play any games. The games I’ve been playing aren’t necessarily recent. Guacamelee and Shovel Knight have recently gotten second winds due to going cross platform. Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is a Vita launch title (made by the developer behind Guacamelee) and MonsterBag was a free PS Vita game from April. Let’s just say that I’ve had a lot of great gaming in the past little while.
From Software has just released their version 1.04 patch update and submitted their patch notes on Sony’s PlayStation blog. The changes make a lot of things work better and make things more convenient. These are changes that probably should have been implemented from the start but it’s good to see that they have been made. Most of these changes are self explanatory but I’ll give some insight on some most of the changes.
Ubisoft certainly knows how to make each Assassin’s Creed trailer look awesome. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate takes place during the Industrial Revolution in 19th century London. It is said that this is the first game to feature a female main character with the two main characters being twins. Of course the trailer doesn’t really show this but baby steps right? I remember hearing about Oneechanbara on the Wii and how it was a complete mess. The gratuitous violence and cheesecake sex appeal is a weird combination that isn’t really that uncommon coming from Japan. This does look a lot better than its last outing in the NA region. Hopefully this will be a great game so you can defend yourself when people scoff you for buying a pandering game like this.
GameLoading: Rise of the Indies is an upcoming documentary on based around indie video game developers. Unlike “Indie Game The Movie” Rise of the Indies is less of an underdog story but rather passion and the success of the most interesting aspect of the video game industry in the past several years.
Bloodborne comes from the same developers who made Demon’s Souls and the Dark Souls series. The series is famous for its punishing gameplay but was never too hard to ever feel impossible. From Software has been making improvements in througout the series, refining the gameplay and playing with the difficulty. Bloodborne is the first game that is trying to break out of that slow methodical shell by being faster and more streamlined. Are these changes for the better?
Life is Strange Episode 2 is almost here and we will be treated to the strange adventures of Max with her colorful and cheesy commentary. This trailer is way more than we got in the short preview at the end of Episode 1 and it looks awesome. This game looks great, has good production values and managed to be very compelling with out showing us to much of the bigger picture. I have high hopes for this series.
