Review Until Dawn

Written by Twisted Ideas

until-dawn-listing-thumb-01-us-12aug14

We have many kinds of horror games out for us. Some are psychological, some action heavy and others have you completely powerless. Until Dawn is the first horror game that I can think of that directly mimics a horror movie rather than taking inspiration. All the trailers for this game made it look like a 90’s slasher movie with Heavy Rain-esque gameplay. Does Until Dawn succeed in merging horror movies and video games?

white-night

White Night came to our attention with its unique film noir horror theme. This indie horror game looks to have more console penetration as where most of the most interesting horror games from indies mainly live on PC. Does this artsy horror game stand up to the horror games heavy hitters on the PC?

Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series decided to spread his horror wing to more games. He’s worked on other horror games other than Resident Evil before but none as visually disturbing as The Evil Within. Trailers Trailers From Last Week 2-8-2015 – PERSONA 5

Written by Twisted Ideas

Finally, some more information for Persona 5 has finally been released. The new gameplay trailer shows off the new characters, the graphical and art style and the new gameplay features. The game seems to be borrowing characters and/or areas from Catherine too. The dungeon crawling aspects have been expanded, adding platforming mechanics and some special abilities. The day to day life gameplay is still present and social links are to be expected. Here’s hoping that Persona 5 comes sooner rather than later.

White Night is a new IP horror game that uses a film noir visual atheistic. Not much is shown of the gameplay but it’s nice to see a horror game that isn’t realistic or gritty looking.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 shows off gameplay of what seems to be apart of the story mode with Hashirama vs. Marada in the past. The battle shows off how flash the game is on the next gen consoles and it looks awesome.

More Silent Hills gameplay was shown at the Tokyo Game Show that just passed. It seems to be keeping its first person perspective which a huge departure but has a lot of potential for the series.. On the topic of Silent Hill, lets talk about the best Silent Hill game since Silent Hill 2. Silent Hill Shattered Memories was a stand-out game when it was announced at E3 in 2009. It was taking Silent Hill in a new direction for the series and was appearing on the Wii at the time it needed more 3rd party hits. It moved away from the action focused The Room, Origins and Homecoming.
