FanExpo Canada just wrapped up this weekend and as with most years I wandered over to the gaming section. I did play several upcoming games like, Guitar Hero Live, Street Fighter V (no thanks to the beta), Call of Duty: Black Ops III (wasn’t playing to but there was an open station and I was asked to play), Mario Maker and a few more here and there. The only game in the Xbox area that I played and didn’t have long lines was Cuphead, the upcoming indie game that had a fairly sizable presence at Microsoft’s E3 press conference this year.
The final chapter in the Arkham series is finally here after several delays and the burning anticipation of fans. With a stumble with Arkham Origins, will Batman: Arkham Knight and his brand new, shiny Batmobile send off this series into greatness?
Microsoft was always done well for itself with its Xbox brand but it’s hard to deny that they haven’t started on the best foot with the Xbox One. What do they need to do to win customer favor again and can they do it with this press conference?
Oh boy, it’s back baby. Fallout 4 isn’t the biggest surprise ever but we always want confirmation. We see glimpses of the past before the bombs dropped, the protagonist speaks and there’s a dog again. These are only speculations of what the game might feature but we can imagine that this post-apocalyptic future that’s stuck in the 1950’s will maintain the witty writing and humor that the series if famous for.
Ubisoft certainly knows how to make each Assassin’s Creed trailer look awesome. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate takes place during the Industrial Revolution in 19th century London. It is said that this is the first game to feature a female main character with the two main characters being twins. Of course the trailer doesn’t really show this but baby steps right? New Batman Arkham Knight gameplay footage was recently released and this game really does teaches the old dog new tricks. The freeflow combat has been expanded to take advantage of Batman’s new suit functions, enemy’s weapons and more ways to defend yourself. The gliding looks like it has a better sense of control than before and the Batmobile does a great job of getting you in and out of it quickly. This game is really putting out all of the stops. Let’s see where how far Arkham Knight will take the Dark Knight..
After a two week delay the second episode of Life is Strange is out. I had some worries about this game because it didn’t show you any real consequences of your decisions. Does Episode 2 show off the potential of the game’s writing.
Life is Strange Episode 2 is almost here and we will be treated to the strange adventures of Max with her colorful and cheesy commentary. This trailer is way more than we got in the short preview at the end of Episode 1 and it looks awesome. This game looks great, has good production values and managed to be very compelling with out showing us to much of the bigger picture. I have high hopes for this series.
A home demo for Final Fantasy XV was released with the purchase of Final Fantasy Type-0 this week. I got my hands on the demo and played through it the other day. Is Final Fantasy XV something that fans should be worried about?
White Night came to our attention with its unique film noir horror theme. This indie horror game looks to have more console penetration as where most of the most interesting horror games from indies mainly live on PC. Does this artsy horror game stand up to the horror games heavy hitters on the PC?
