So far two Hatsune Miku game to be localized outside of Japan and they have been helping diversify and revitalize the rhythm game genre. Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX is the newest title to be localized and will have a new look and gameplay from its PlayStation titles. Do these changes mean that the game won’t be as good as Project DIVA?
Hatsune Miku and her gang have made a return overseas with a whole new set of music, dancing and costumes. This fast paced, colorful rhythm game brings back the charm rhythm games used to have before Dance Dance Revolution, Gutiar Hero and Rock Band standardized rhythm games in their heyday. Is -Project DIVA F- 2nd worth a second look?
The rhythm game genre has seen better days. The rise and fall of the plastic instrument rhythm games left an empty spot in gaming that hasn’t been seen in many years. The genre is kept alive by games like DDR, Rocksmith and the Dance central games; There hasn’t been a rhythm game along the lines Parappa the Rappa, Guitaroo Man or Bust-A-Groove on a major console in a long time. Does Hatsune Miku and her friends have what it takes to revitalize the fun side of the genre?
