The physical version of Life is Strange was released this week. It comes with the game, 32 page art book and soundtrack, featuring 22 tracks. The art book is done with the same artistic personality as Max’s diary in the game. It’s very much like a scrapbook. The concept art are displayed as photographs taped into the book and the negative space is filled with great doodles and artwork that you may recognize from Max’s diary. The soundtrack has the fantastic indie songs from the game plus the original score. Many of the songs are fantastic but a couple of the original songs are just incidental music. They’re songs that suit the mood of the game rather than being on your music player but that’s the case with most video game soundtracks. There is a commentary that will be available for everyone who purchased either version of the game. Unfortunately, the commentary is absent from the physical version and of the time of writing should be available within the week of release.
The Life is Strange Limited Edition is one of the better standard collections editions I’ve bought; and by standard I really just mean one’s that really don’t raise the price of the game, (though more expensive than the digital and what Telltale sells at retail). There several special editions that I’ve gotten in the past that really feel like cheap pre-order bonuses with the amount of content is skimped on in the art books and soundtracks. Kirby’s Dream Collection is really the only standard special edition that I have that really matches the quality of this because it has 20 years of history to pull from. There’s so much personality put into this and other companies should strive to put more into these bundles. If you still haven’t played Life is Strange you should. It’s a powerful story and if you can find the limited edition then you’re in for an extra treat.
Ubisoft is an interesting developer. They are one of the most hit or miss triple A developers and their failures often overshadows the great games they produce. Far Cry is one of their triple A titles that hasn’t been run into the ground nor has it over promised and under delivered. It has been nearly a year since it was released and is a cheaper title to get but is Far Cry 4 something worth adding to your collection?
It has been a better part of a year since we’ve met Max, Chloe and the residents of Arcadia bay. For Max, this has been the longest week of her life. Life is Strange – Episode 5: Polarized will be the end to this story. How it ends and how you get there will be to you.
FanExpo Canada just wrapped up this weekend and as with most years I wandered over to the gaming section. I did play several upcoming games like, Guitar Hero Live, Street Fighter V (no thanks to the beta), Call of Duty: Black Ops III (wasn’t playing to but there was an open station and I was asked to play), Mario Maker and a few more here and there. The only game in the Xbox area that I played and didn’t have long lines was Cuphead, the upcoming indie game that had a fairly sizable presence at Microsoft’s E3 press conference this year.
Before Game Freak was known for the Pokemon series they developed Pulseman in 1994. It was a fast paced action platformer and a overlooked gem on the Sega Genesis. Over 20 years later Game Freak and Sega work together once again with Tembo the Badass Elephant. It isn’t often when Game Freak work on something other than Pokemon. Do they have what it takes to get Tembo the Badass Elephant off the ground?
A sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, Rocket League cuts out all of the fluff of the single player of SARPBC to focus on the unique soccer gameplay. Without a dedicated single player component, does Rocket League really take off?

Microsoft was always done well for itself with its Xbox brand but it’s hard to deny that they haven’t started on the best foot with the Xbox One. What do they need to do to win customer favor again and can they do it with this press conference?
Initially, I wasn’t going to talk about Life is Strange again until the finale. This really isn’t much of a review as it is my reactions due to the events that blindsided the entire game up to this point. I’m going to be as vague as possible because Life is Strange is becoming something that stands out from Telltale in the best way.
