What else is there to say about Arkham Knight at this point. I just want it to come out but this new gameplay trailer is showing off more of the Batmobile. This is probably the most versatile Batmobile that I’ve seen. When engaged in the massive tank shoot out it can track the trajectory of enemy fire and drive in all directions like a helicopter. Best of all, it can do donuts.
Since I happen to buy and review Infamous Second Son and while the standalone expansion is free the same month I’ve decided to review Infamous First Light. First Light focuses on Fetch and her past briefly mentioned in Second Son. Does Fetch’s neon filled adventure shine a new light to this franchise?
FuturLab is a new and rising developer whose been making a name for themselves working on games for the PS3 and Vita. Their best and most ambitious game, Velocity has earn its sequel. Velocity was a stand out game because of how it changed how we think a top down shooter should be. Velocity 2X aims to be a bigger and even better than the first. Does FuturLab deliver?
For those attempting to go online on the PS3 today will find that there is a mandatory version update for the system. Version 4.25 gives Playstation Plus users 1 GB of of cloud storage for their save files. Prior to the update you only had 150 MB of storage. Out of curiosity I did a mass back up of all of my save data discovering that there was about 484 MB on my PS3, three times larger than the previous storage space allotted. So yes additional space is a welcome. Again this is only available to PS Plus users who also gain the benefits of free games/themes/avatars, discounts and the occasional early access to content like betas.
For all you PS3 owners out there who haven’t subscribed to the PlayStation Plus service there couldn’t be a better time to do so than right now. Over $290 of games are now FREE for PlayStation Plus users. The games being offered are:
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
Just Cause 2
Saints Row 2
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Hard Corps: Uprising
Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone
Sideway New York
There’s a bit of a lull of games coming out in the next couple of months but if your willing to spend even $18 for the three month subscription you have a more than enough games to keep you occupied for at least the summer.
Starhawk is the Spiritual successor to Warhawk that was released by Sony in 2007. Like it’s predecessor it is a third person shooter where you can utilize both land and air vehicles in 32 multiplayer combat. The early access public beta for PS Plus user was released recently and I got the chance to play. Is Starhawk able to stand along the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield?
Link is back in Nintendo’s signature The Legend of Zelda franchise. I’m going to cut to the chase right now, Skyward Sword is a good “Zelda” game even great. The problem is we have been spoiled with games like Batman Arkham City, Uncharted 3, etc that are action packed and throw you in the action right away. Zelda takes a while before the real adventure starts and the game’s action isn’t as nail biting as shooters or brawlers. Another hard sell is people without a Wii or Wii Motion Plus. Zelda is an adventure game designed to be lengthy and always has. If you are fine with that and even if you need an additional investment for Wii Motion Plus Skyward Sword is well worth your time.
