I’ve been behind on review again, not because I haven’t been play any games. The games I’ve been playing aren’t necessarily recent. Guacamelee and Shovel Knight have recently gotten second winds due to going cross platform. Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is a Vita launch title (made by the developer behind Guacamelee) and MonsterBag was a free PS Vita game from April. Let’s just say that I’ve had a lot of great gaming in the past little while.
I’ve been doing weekly bargain been reviews consistently over the past few months. They have been fun to write and fun going back and see why these games were so memorable. Starting next week, I’ll be taking a hiatus on Bargain Bin Reviews. I’ve been busier lately, I’m taking a vacation at the end of the year and there are a lot of game that I’ve been getting in the holiday video game rush. Bargain Bin Reviews take up time that I could use to write reviews on current games or even an article or two. I plan to start them again in January so expect to hear about some more over looked gems in the upcoming year.
I’ve been planning to be more active on my blog but with my busy schedule I don’t always get to play games as they come out. Many “new” games I play tend to be several months old by then. Writing about Triple A games a few months after the release probably isn’t the best use of my time.
I want to start writing weekly reviews for older games that probably wouldn’t require an in-depth review at this point. These will be shorter review of games that I’ve played in the past that deserve more attention. They will mostly be games that you can easily find for affordable prices in stores or online. Hopefully I can keep to a schedule even if I have a full review planned. It will be good writing practice for me and hopefully you will find something that you love that you haven’t tried before.
The efforts of Operation Rainfall has successfully gotten Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower localized in North America. The first of the three to be released is Xenoblade Chronicles, a sci-fi JRPG. The Wii has always been lacking in the RPG department but now it’s receiving heavy hitters. Is Xenoblade Chronicles good enough to scrape of the dust off your Wii or should it stayed at home.
