More Silent Hills gameplay was shown at the Tokyo Game Show that just passed. It seems to be keeping its first person perspective which a huge departure but has a lot of potential for the series.. On the topic of Silent Hill, lets talk about the best Silent Hill game since Silent Hill 2. Silent Hill Shattered Memories was a stand-out game when it was announced at E3 in 2009. It was taking Silent Hill in a new direction for the series and was appearing on the Wii at the time it needed more 3rd party hits. It moved away from the action focused The Room, Origins and Homecoming.
Silent Hill is one of those franchises that hasn’t made any real impact for a long time. After Silent Hill 2 there has been a steady decline in the quality of the franchise and ever since the original team has left they have been on shaky ground ever since. Released early 2012 by Vatra Games who have only developed one other game previously. While receiving mixed reviews, as a budget title is Silent Hill Downpour worth a look?
Konami’s Silent Hill HD Collection coming out January 2012 will have redone voice tracks. Silent Hill 2 and 3 will have lines and redone and possible changed with new voice actors. The Silent Hill games weren’t known for their voice work so this is a welcome change. Silent Hill 2 will have the option of keeping the original cast’s voice work in the game but Silent Hill 3 has not.
It is shocking that Konami would go through the effort to redo the dialogue because most HD releases don’t put half the effort into their re-releases. I am not quite sure why Silent Hill 3 would not have the original audio as an option but I’m not heartbroken over it and I have it for the PS2 if I really want to listen to Heather Morris again.
