News Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call – Wave 2 DLC

Final Fantasy song DLC ended a few months ago. However DLC hasn’t completely ended. Tracks BRAVELY DEFAULT, SaGa Frontier, Romancing SaGa 1 & 2, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger have been added as DLC for the game.

This is exciting news because Squaresoft/Square-Enix has a fairly deep library of JRPG’s under their belt. If Square is known for anything else it’s their music. Now all Sqaure-Enix needs to do is add a preview function to their DLC store because I can tell you right now that I don’t know what a lot of these songs sound like.

Good old Square-Enix milking one of their franchises again. Theatrhythm isn’t a spin-off or squeal to a series nobody wanted; it’s their charming and addicting rhythm game for the 3DS. Curtain Call more than doubles the track list of the original but is this simply a cash grab or is there enough to revisit this game again?

The Final Fantasy series has been making enemies of their fans. Whether it be its main games failing to deliver on what fans want or the numerous spin offs that are ignored, fans are becoming tired of waiting for something¬† good from the franchise. While I don’t totally agree with the vocal fans Theatrhythm Final Fantasy has caught my attention. It combines my love of Final Fantasy music and rhythm games. Is this mishmash a good thing on another product waiting to be ignored?
