King of Fighters XIV has gone back to the 3D visual style, not seen since Maximum Impact. The series has always been known for its 2D graphics and the hand drawn look from XII and XIII stood out from the top fighting games. The 3D graphics have been coming under some backlash but they have been slowly refining the visuals. When this game is released, hopefully it becomes visually appealing and more approachable gameplay wise.
Microsoft was always done well for itself with its Xbox brand but it’s hard to deny that they haven’t started on the best foot with the Xbox One. What do they need to do to win customer favor again and can they do it with this press conference?
ExtraCredits has done a better job at explaining this game than I ever will but I bring this up because it deserves a look. Spec Ops: The Line deals with issues with the modern military genre that other games and series haven’t and probably can’t. This is a game that’s self-aware and instead of using that for parody or satire it’s something more meaningful.
One of the surprising features of God of War Ascension is that contains online multiplayer. This is odd for a tight 3D brawler to incorporate. Is multiplayer going to impact the single player in any way? Doubt it. Having played the single player last year and feeling underwhelmed is the multiplayer that one thing that gets me excited?
The biggest event annually for gamers and game developers congregate in Los Angeles. E3 or Electronic Entertainment Expo is a gamer’s paradise to witness exclusive game trailers, demos, big announcements of well-known game developers and anticipating release dates of games coming later in the year and in 2013. I will be giving a thorough scope of E3 2012’s press conferences from Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Sony and Nintendo. And any surprising titles due for release later this year and next year of 2013. Ubisoft released Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, a captivating third person, cover-base shooter.
